This movie is a continuation of the 1987 version which starts with the release from a Federal prison of the legendary Gordon Gekko, the famous Wallstreet corporate raider after a conviction on insider trading and showcases how he is trying to reconnect with his daughter following his divorce and the loss of his son earlier. He authors a book entitled ‘Is Greed Good’ which inspires Jacob Moore an upcoming wall street baller who is dating his daughter and after attending a lecture presided over by Gordon he introduces himself and Gordon uses the opportunity to try to get to his daughter which unbeknownst to Jacob is not only for the affection of the daughter but the desire to access some money stacked away in a Swiss Account which the daughter has to release. Anyways Gordon uses Moore to avenge his former co-conspirator Bretton James who as revealed provided the decisive evidence, not Bud Fox for his arrest by pushing the final nail into the coffin as well as led to the suicide of Zabel Jacob’s mentor. Just like the first edition of Wall Street Oliver Stone nailed this one and it’s a must watch for all of you with an obsession to succeed in business and regarding excessive greed, Gordon reminds us that “Bulls make money, bears make money, pigs get slaughtered“. Another piece of advice, you may want to watch Wallstreet (1987) before watching this one
